Ohhh Baked Cajun Catfish 🔥🐟—bold, flaky, and packed with Southern flavor without the grease. Super easy and so good.

🔥🐟 Baked Cajun Catfish

Serves 3–4

Ingredients

  • 4 catfish fillets
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika (smoked if you have it)
  • ½ tsp lemon pepper (optional)
  • Salt (only if your Cajun seasoning isn’t salty)
  • Lemon wedges
  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Heat to 400°F (205°C).
    • Lightly grease a baking dish or line with foil.
  2. Season the catfish
    • Pat fillets dry.
    • Brush both sides with melted butter or oil.
    • Sprinkle Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, and lemon pepper evenly.
  3. Bake
    • Arrange fillets in a single layer.
    • Bake 15–20 minutes, until fish flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Optional broil
    • Broil 1–2 minutes at the end for a lightly crisp top.
  5. Serve
    • Squeeze fresh lemon over the fish.
    • Garnish with parsley.

🔥 Pro Tips

  • Don’t overcook—catfish dries fast.
  • Milder flavor: Rinse fillets in milk before seasoning.
  • Extra heat: Add cayenne or hot sauce before baking.
  • Crispy option: Sprinkle lightly with seasoned breadcrumbs.

Perfect Sides

  • Dirty rice or jambalaya
  • Coleslaw
  • Cornbread
  • Garlic green beans

If you want, I can give you:

  • Sheet-pan Cajun catfish & veggies
  • Crispy baked (cornmeal-crusted) catfish
  • Air-fryer Cajun catfish

Just tell me 😄
