Ahhh yes 🍪 cozy-kitchen energy incoming.
Here’s a classic, chewy oatmeal cookie recipe—crispy edges, soft centers, zero drama.

🍪 Chewy Oatmeal Cookies

🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

Optional add-ins (pick your fighter):

  • Raisins (classic)
  • Chocolate chips
  • Dried cranberries
  • Chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Coconut flakes

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Cream butter & sugars
Beat until fluffy (this = chewy texture).
  2. Add eggs & vanilla
    Mix until smooth.
  3. Mix dry ingredients
Whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt.
  4. Combine
Stir dry into wet, then fold in oats + add-ins.
  5. Chill (optional but 🔥)
30 minutes = thicker cookies, less spread.
  6. Bake
    • Scoop onto lined baking sheet
    • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 min
    • Centers should look slightly underbaked
  7. Cool
Let sit 5 min on tray, then move to rack.

✨ Pro Tips

  • Extra chewy: add 1 tbsp honey or molasses
  • Softer cookies: swap ¼ cup sugar for more brown sugar
  • Crispier edges: bake 1–2 min longer
  • Thicker cookies: chill dough + don’t flatten

Want them old-school raisin, chocolate-loaded, or healthy-ish? I can tweak it 😌
