Kool-Aid pickles

Posted on January 20, 2026 by Admin

Ahhh Kool-Aid pickles (aka Koolickles) 😄 Sweet, tangy, crunchy, and a little unhinged—in the best way.

🥒 Kool-Aid Pickles

Ingredients

  • 1 jar dill pickles (whole or spears)
  • 1 packet Kool-Aid (any flavor: cherry & tropical punch are classics)
  • ½–1 cup sugar (to taste)
  • Pickle juice (from the jar)

Instructions

  1. Drain some juice
    • Pour out about ½ the pickle juice from the jar (don’t dump it all).
  2. Add flavor
    • Pour in 1 packet of Kool-Aid.
    • Add ½ cup sugar (add more if you want them sweeter).
  3. Mix
    • Close the jar and shake until sugar dissolves.
  4. Soak & chill
    • Refrigerate at least 24 hours (48–72 hours = stronger flavor).
    • Flip or shake the jar once or twice while soaking.
  5. Eat cold
    • The pickles will be bright, colorful, and sweet-tangy.

🔥 Flavor Combos to Try

  • Cherry Kool-Aid → classic red Koolickles
  • Tropical Punch → sweet & bold
  • Grape → surprisingly good
  • Blue Raspberry → wild-looking, fun taste

💡 Tips

  • Whole pickles absorb flavor better than slices.
  • For less sweet, start with ¼ cup sugar.
  • They last 2–3 weeks refrigerated.

Love them or hate them, Kool-Aid pickles are a Southern snack legend 😌
Want a spicy version with chili flakes or a no-sugar version next?
