Spicy Beef Wontons

Optional dipping sauce:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Chili flakes or Sriracha to taste

Instructions

  1. Make the filling
    • In a bowl, combine ground beef, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili paste, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Assemble the wontons
    • Place a small teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
    • Brush edges with beaten egg, fold into triangles or desired shape, and press to seal tightly.
  3. Cook the wontons
    Option 1 – Frying:

    • Heat oil in a deep pan (~350°F / 175°C).
    • Fry wontons for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

    Option 2 – Baking (healthier):

    • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Brush wontons lightly with oil and bake 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden.
  4. Make the dipping sauce
    • Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and chili. Serve alongside the wontons.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra spicy: Add chopped fresh chili or more chili paste.
  • Cheesy twist: Add a small piece of cheese inside the filling for a melty surprise.
  • Air fryer method: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway.
