Here’s a delicious recipe for Pork Steaks in Creamy Mushroom Sauce — tender pork with a rich, savory sauce 🍄🥩
Pork Steaks in Creamy Mushroom Sauce
Ingredients
For the Pork
- 4 pork steaks (about 1 inch thick)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
For the Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz (225 g) mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Cook the Pork
- Season pork steaks with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
2. Make the Mushroom Sauce
- In the same skillet, melt butter. Sauté onion and garlic until softened.
- Add mushrooms and cook 5–7 minutes until browned and tender.
- Stir in broth, cream, and Dijon mustard (if using). Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return pork to skillet and spoon sauce over. Simmer 5–7 minutes until pork is fully cooked (internal temp 145°F / 63°C).
3. Serve
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.
Tips
- Use boneless or bone-in pork steaks — both work well.
- For extra flavor, deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine before adding cream.
- Add thyme or rosemary for an herby twist.
I can also provide a slow cooker version that makes the pork extra tender and flavorful if you want.
