“School Pizza Recipe”

Posted on January 31, 2026 by Admin

Got it! Here’s a classic “school-style” pizza recipe—think cafeteria pizza: simple, cheesy, kid-friendly, and easy to make at home. 🍕

School-Style Pizza Recipe

Ingredients (makes 2 medium pizzas)

For the dough (or use store-bought pizza dough)

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F / 45°C)

For the topping

  • 1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional toppings: pepperoni, sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, sausage

Optional garnish

  • Dried oregano or Italian seasoning

Instructions

1. Prepare the dough

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.

2. Preheat oven

  • Preheat to 450°F (230°C).

3. Assemble the pizza

  1. Punch down dough and roll into 2 medium circles or rectangles.
  2. Place on greased baking sheets or pizza stones.
  3. Spread pizza sauce evenly over dough.
  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.
  5. Add desired toppings.
  6. Sprinkle oregano or Italian seasoning if desired.

4. Bake

  • Bake 12–15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly and crust is golden.

5. Serve

  • Slice and enjoy warm, just like school cafeteria pizza!

💡 Tips for Authentic School Pizza Style

  • Use low-moisture mozzarella for that classic stretchy texture.
  • Slightly thicker crust mimics the cafeteria pizza experience.
  • You can make half-sheet pan-sized pizza for larger gatherings or lunch boxes.

If you want, I can also give a super-easy “no-yeast” school pizza version that’s ready in 20 minutes—perfect for quick lunches.

Do you want me to do that version too?
