Here’s a classic homemade Pizza Pie recipe — crispy crust, gooey cheese, and your favorite toppings 🍕✨


Pizza Pie

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1½ cups warm water (110°F / 43°C)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3½–4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1½ teaspoons salt

Sauce

  • 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning

Toppings

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, peppers, olives, etc.

Instructions

  1. Make the dough
    • Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
    • Mix in olive oil, salt, and flour until dough forms.
    • Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    • Place in oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
  2. Preheat oven
    • Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
    • Place pizza stone or baking sheet in oven while heating.
  3. Shape the pizza
    • Punch down dough and roll or stretch into a 12–14 inch circle.
  4. Assemble
    • Spread sauce evenly over dough.
    • Sprinkle mozzarella and add desired toppings.
  5. Bake
    • Transfer pizza to hot stone or pan.
    • Bake 12–15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  6. Serve
    • Let cool slightly, slice, and enjoy.

Tips

  • Brush crust edges with olive oil or garlic butter for extra flavor
  • Don’t overload toppings or crust will be soggy
  • For crispier crust, bake on the lowest oven rack
