Cream Cheese Stuffed Banana Bread

Makes: 1 loaf

Ingredients

Banana Bread

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup sugar (white or brown)
  • ½ cup melted butter or oil
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk (or 1 tbsp milk)
  • ½ tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Prep
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. Banana batter
    Mix flour, baking soda, salt.
    In another bowl, mix sugar, butter, bananas, egg, and vanilla.
    Combine wet and dry just until mixed.
  3. Cream cheese filling
    Beat cream cheese, sugar, yolk, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Assemble
    • Pour half the banana batter into the pan.
    • Spread cream cheese mixture on top (don’t touch edges).
    • Top with remaining banana batter.
  5. Bake
    Bake 55–65 minutes. Cover loosely if top browns too fast.
  6. Cool completely
    Let cool fully before slicing so the center sets.

Tips & Variations

  • Add chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the banana batter.
  • Swirl the cream cheese slightly for a marbled look.
  • Store in the fridge for best texture.
