Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients:
    Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Mix wet ingredients:
    In another bowl, beat sugar, oil (or butter), eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Combine:
    Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until a thick dough forms.
  4. Chill (optional but recommended):
    Chill dough for 30 minutes for easier handling.
  5. Form cookies:
    Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until coated.
  6. Bake:
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake cookies 10–12 minutes. They’ll crack naturally while baking.
  7. Cool:
    Let cool on a wire rack for a few minutes—they firm up as they cool.

Tips & Variations

  • For extra fudgy cookies, slightly underbake them.
  • Add chocolate chips to the dough for more chocolate goodness.
  • You can sprinkle extra powdered sugar right after baking for a snowier look.
