Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Here’s a classic Brown Sugar Meatloaf 🍖🍯 — sweet, savory, and perfectly glazed.


Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Servings: 4–6
Time: ~1 hour

Ingredients

Meatloaf

  • 1½ lbs ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Brown Sugar Glaze

  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    350°F (175°C). Line a loaf pan or prepare a baking dish.
  2. Mix meatloaf
    In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, milk, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape
    Form mixture into a loaf and place in prepared pan.
  4. Add glaze
    Mix brown sugar, ketchup, and mustard. Spread over top of meatloaf.
  5. Bake
    Bake 50–60 minutes until meat is cooked through (internal temp 160°F / 70°C).
  6. Rest & serve
    Let meatloaf rest 5–10 minutes before slicing.

Tips & Variations

  • Add finely diced bell peppers or shredded carrots to the meat for extra moisture.
  • For a richer flavor, use half beef, half pork.
  • Top with extra glaze during the last 5–10 minutes for a sticky, caramelized crust.
