Chocolate layer:

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Toppings:

  • Chopped nuts (optional)
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Additional whipped topping

  1. Prepare the crust:
    • Combine crushed graham crackers or wafers with melted butter.
    • Press mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan. Chill in the fridge while preparing layers.
  2. Make the banana cream layer:
    • Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Fold in whipped topping.
    • Spread half of this mixture over the chilled crust.
    • Arrange a layer of banana slices on top, then spread the remaining cream mixture over the bananas.
  3. Add chocolate layer:
    • Heat heavy cream until warm, then pour over chocolate chips. Stir until smooth to make a ganache.
    • Pour ganache over the banana cream layer.
  4. Chill:
    • Refrigerate at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, until firm.
  5. Serve:
    • Top with extra whipped topping, chopped nuts, and maraschino cherries before slicing and serving.
