French fries

Posted on January 4, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple way to make crispy French fries 🍟 — golden, crunchy on the outside, soft inside. You can do them deep-fried, oven-baked, or air-fried.

Classic French Fries

Servings: 2–4
Time: 30–40 minutes (oven)

Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2–3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: pepper, paprika, garlic powder

Instructions (Oven-Baked Version)

  1. Preheat oven
425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prep potatoes
    • Peel if desired.
    • Cut into sticks, about ¼–½ inch thick.
    • Soak in cold water 30 minutes to remove excess starch (makes them crispier).
    • Drain and pat completely dry.
  3. Season
Toss potatoes with oil, salt, and any optional spices.
  4. Bake
    • Spread evenly on a baking sheet in a single layer.
    • Bake 20 minutes, flip fries, bake another 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  5. Serve
Sprinkle with extra salt if needed. Serve with ketchup, mayo, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips & Variations

  • Double-bake method: Bake 10 minutes, cool 10 minutes, then bake again 10–15 minutes for extra crispiness.
  • Air fryer: 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes, shaking halfway.
  • Deep-fry: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C), fry 3–5 minutes until golden.
  • Flavor twists: Try garlic powder, smoked paprika, Parmesan, or truffle oil.

I can also give you a loaded French fries version with cheese, bacon, and toppings if you want a fun twist.

Do you want me to give that version?
