Here’s a classic recipe for Apple Fritters 🍎 — soft, sweet, and perfectly spiced with cinnamon.

Apple Fritters

Servings: 6–8
Time: ~30–40 minutes

Ingredients

Fritters

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled, diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients
    • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Combine wet ingredients
    • In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  3. Make batter
    • Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
    • Fold in diced apples.
  4. Heat oil
    • Heat 2–3 inches of oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry fritters
    • Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil (careful not to overcrowd).
    • Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
    • Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. Make glaze
    • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Drizzle over warm fritters or dip them in glaze.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra cinnamon flavor: Add ½ tsp cinnamon to the glaze.
  • Caramel twist: Drizzle with caramel sauce instead of glaze.
  • Air fryer version: Preheat to 375°F (190°C) and cook fritters 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Add-ins: Fold in chopped nuts or raisins for extra texture.

I can also give you a baked apple fritter recipe that’s lighter and less messy if you want.

Do you want me to give that version?
