Steak and Shrimp Jerk Pasta
Ingredients (Serves 4)
Protein
- 8 oz steak (sirloin or ribeye), sliced thin
- 8 oz raw shrimp, peeled & deveined
Seasoning
- 1½ tbsp jerk seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper (light—jerk seasoning already has salt)
Pasta & Sauce
- 12 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine work best)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
- Optional: sliced bell peppers or onions
- Optional garnish: parsley or green onions
Instructions
- Cook pasta
- Boil pasta in salted water until al dente.
- Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
- Season protein
- Toss steak and shrimp separately with jerk seasoning and olive oil.
- Cook steak
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear steak slices 2–3 minutes per side.
- Remove and set aside.
- Cook shrimp
- In the same pan, cook shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink.
- Remove and set aside.
- Make sauce
- Lower heat to medium.
- Add butter and garlic; cook 30 seconds.
- Stir in cream and chicken broth.
- Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thick.
- Add parmesan and stir until smooth.
- Combine
- Add pasta, steak, shrimp, and optional veggies.
- Toss gently. Add pasta water if needed for looseness.
- Serve
- Garnish and serve hot.
Tips
- If jerk seasoning is spicy, balance with extra cream
- Don’t overcook shrimp—they get rubbery fast
