Ingredients (serves 2–3)

  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional, for extra brightness)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: cooked pasta or crusty bread, for serving

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep oven & shrimp

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pat shrimp dry with paper towels for better sear and flavor absorption.

2️⃣ Make garlic butter

  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, and lemon zest.

3️⃣ Assemble in baking dish

  • Place shrimp in a single layer in a baking dish.
  • Pour garlic butter mixture over shrimp.
  • Season lightly with salt and pepper.

4️⃣ Bake

  • Bake 8–10 minutes, until shrimp are pink, opaque, and just cooked through.
  • Optional: broil 1–2 min at the end for slightly golden tops.

5️⃣ Garnish & serve

  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  • Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up garlic butter.

Pro Tips

  • Don’t overcook shrimp: they cook quickly and become rubbery if overdone.
  • Extra flavor: add a splash of white wine to the garlic butter before baking.
  • Make it saucy: double the garlic butter mixture if serving over pasta.
  • Brighten it up: a little extra lemon juice just before serving makes flavors pop.
