Here’s a quick and easy recipe for Cheddar Cheese Biscuits — fluffy, cheesy, and perfect for breakfast or as a side 🧀🍞

Cheddar Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk + 1 tsp lemon juice)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    • Preheat to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients
    • In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and garlic powder.
  3. Cut in Butter
    • Add cold butter cubes and use a pastry cutter or fingers to mix until the mixture is crumbly.
  4. Add Cheese and Liquid
    • Stir in shredded cheddar.
    • Pour in buttermilk and mix gently until just combined. Don’t overmix.
  5. Shape Biscuits
    • Drop spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet or roll out and cut into rounds.
  6. Bake
    • Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve
    • Serve warm, plain or with butter.

Tips

  • Keep butter cold for the flakiest biscuits.
  • Add extra cheddar on top before baking for a cheesy crust.
  • Mix-ins like cooked bacon, jalapeños, or chives make them extra tasty.

I can also give you a cheddar garlic pull-apart biscuit version or a southern-style cheddar drop biscuit version if you want.
