Chocolate Brownies are rich, fudgy, and deeply chocolatey—perfect for dessert, snacks, or sharing. This is a classic homemade brownie recipe that’s easy and reliable.

🍫 Classic Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder (optional, for slightly cakey brownies)

Instructions

1. Preheat & Prep

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan.

2. Melt Butter

  • Melt butter and let it cool slightly.
  • Stir in sugar until well combined.

3. Add Eggs & Vanilla

  • Beat in eggs one at a time.
  • Mix in vanilla extract.

4. Mix Dry Ingredients

  • Sift together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Fold into wet mixture just until combined.

5. Bake

  • Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth top.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, until edges are set and center is slightly soft.

6. Cool & Serve

  • Let brownies cool before cutting for clean slices.

Tips for Perfect Brownies

  • Fudgy: Bake closer to 20 minutes.
  • Cakey: Add baking powder and bake closer to 25 minutes.
  • Don’t overmix once flour is added.
  • Brownies firm up as they cool.

Optional Add-Ins

  • Chocolate chips or chunks
  • Chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Swirl in cream cheese or peanut butter

These chocolate brownies are simple, rich, and always a hit.

If you’d like, I can also share a super fudgy version, a one-bowl brownie, or a brownie with frosting—just tell me which one you want!
