Here’s a classic Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe — soft in the center, lightly crisp on the edges, and always a favorite 🍪🍫


Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter & sugars
    • Beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs & vanilla
    • Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Mix dry ingredients
    • In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Combine
    • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
    • Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Bake
    • Scoop dough (about 2 tablespoons per cookie) onto baking sheets.
    • Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers look slightly soft.
  7. Cool
    • Let cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Tips for Perfect Cookies

  • Chill dough 30 minutes for thicker cookies
  • Use brown sugar for chewiness
  • Slightly underbake for soft centers

Variations

  • Add chopped nuts or white chocolate chips
  • Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before baking
  • Make them extra thick by rolling dough into balls
