Here’s a classic, easy Hamburger Casserole — cheesy, hearty, and perfect for a family dinner 🍽️🧀

Hamburger Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (elbow macaroni, rotini, or penne)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: ½ cup frozen peas, corn, or mixed vegetables

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the beef
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with onion until beef is browned and onions are tender.
    • Drain excess fat.
  3. Prepare the sauce
    • In a bowl, mix condensed soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
    • Stir in 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Combine
    • Add cooked pasta and optional vegetables to the beef mixture.
    • Pour soup mixture over and stir until well combined.
  5. Assemble casserole
    • Pour mixture into prepared baking dish.
    • Sprinkle extra cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Bake
    • Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve
    • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with a side salad or garlic bread.

Tips

  • Substitute cream of mushroom with cream of chicken or celery for different flavors.
  • Sprinkle paprika or Italian seasoning on top before baking for extra flavor.
  • Make ahead: assemble and refrigerate, then bake when ready.

I can also give a cheesier, creamier version with cream cheese and sour cream if you want.
