Meatloaf

Posted on January 11, 2026 by Admin

Ohhh yes šŸ–šŸ”„ Meatloaf—classic, hearty, comforting, and full of flavor. Here’s a moist, flavorful, crowd-pleasing version that’s perfect for dinner.

šŸ– Classic Meatloaf

Ingredients (serves 4–6)

  • 1 1/2 lbs (680 g) ground beef (or half beef, half pork for extra flavor)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (plus extra for topping)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning (optional)

For topping (optional but classic):

  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp mustard

Instructions

1ļøāƒ£ Preheat oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a loaf pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2ļøāƒ£ Prepare meatloaf mixture

  • In a large bowl, soak breadcrumbs in milk for a few minutes.
  • Add ground beef, onion, garlic, ketchup, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and seasoning.
  • Mix gently until just combined—don’t overwork, or meatloaf will be dense.

3ļøāƒ£ Shape & top

  • Shape mixture into a loaf and place in prepared pan.
  • Mix topping ingredients (ketchup, brown sugar, mustard) and spread evenly over the top.

4ļøāƒ£ Bake

  • Bake 55–65 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

5ļøāƒ£ Rest & serve

  • Let meatloaf rest 10 minutes before slicing to retain juices.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a side salad.

Pro Tips

  • Moist meatloaf: soaking breadcrumbs in milk prevents dryness.
  • Flavor boost: sautĆ© onions and garlic before adding for deeper flavor.
  • Don’t overmix: keeps meatloaf tender, not dense.
  • Make ahead: can shape and refrigerate overnight; bake the next day.

I can also give a ā€œcheesy, bacon-wrapped meatloafā€ version that’s extra juicy and decadent, basically next-level comfort food šŸ˜.

Do you want me to do that?
