Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup pineapple juice (not water)
  • ½ cup vegetable oil

Glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan or a Bundt pan.
  2. Mix the cake: In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, pineapple juice, and oil. Beat until smooth.
  3. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Make the glaze: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in pineapple juice and powdered sugar. Bring to a gentle boil, then remove from heat.
  5. Glaze the cake: While the cake is still warm, poke holes all over with a fork or skewer. Slowly pour the glaze over the cake so it soaks in.
  6. Let cool before serving.

Tips

  • For extra flavor, add ½ teaspoon vanilla to the batter.
  • This cake tastes even better the next day after the glaze fully soaks in.
  • Serve plain or with a little whipped cream.
