Here’s a delicious recipe for Pork Steaks in Creamy Mushroom Sauce — tender pork with a rich, savory sauce 🍄🥩

Pork Steaks in Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients

For the Pork

  • 4 pork steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

For the Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz (225 g) mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Cook the Pork

  1. Season pork steaks with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.

2. Make the Mushroom Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt butter. Sauté onion and garlic until softened.
  2. Add mushrooms and cook 5–7 minutes until browned and tender.
  3. Stir in broth, cream, and Dijon mustard (if using). Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Return pork to skillet and spoon sauce over. Simmer 5–7 minutes until pork is fully cooked (internal temp 145°F / 63°C).

3. Serve

  1. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.

Tips

  • Use boneless or bone-in pork steaks — both work well.
  • For extra flavor, deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine before adding cream.
  • Add thyme or rosemary for an herby twist.

I can also provide a slow cooker version that makes the pork extra tender and flavorful if you want.
