Tuna patties

Posted on January 6, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, classic Tuna Patties recipe 🐟—crispy on the outside and tender inside, perfect for a quick meal.

Tuna Patties

Ingredients (Makes 6–8 patties)

  • 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained well
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
  • 2 tbsp onion, finely chopped
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: parsley, dill, garlic powder, or paprika
  • 2 tbsp oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Mix
    • In a bowl, combine tuna, egg, breadcrumbs, mayo, mustard, onion, salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings.
  2. Form patties
    • Shape mixture into patties about ½-inch thick.
  3. Cook
    • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and heated through.
  4. Serve
    • Serve hot with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or on bread as a sandwich.

Tips

  • If mixture is too wet, add more breadcrumbs; too dry, add a bit more mayo.
  • For a healthier option, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes, flipping once.
  • Great with a side of coleslaw or salad.

If you want, I can also share a Southern-style tuna patty version or one made with salmon instead.
