🍩 Classic Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients (Makes 12 rolls)

Dough

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

Filling

  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Dough

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt. Add yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms. Knead 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled in size.

2️⃣ Prepare the Filling

  • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.

3️⃣ Assemble the Rolls

  1. Roll dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle.
  2. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle evenly with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  3. Roll dough tightly from the long side.
  4. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased 9×13-inch pan.

4️⃣ Second Rise

  • Cover and let rolls rise 30–45 minutes until puffy.

5️⃣ Bake

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake 25–30 minutes until golden brown.

6️⃣ Ice the Rolls

  • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for icing. Drizzle over warm rolls.

💡 Tips

  • For extra gooeyness, brush extra butter over the filling before rolling.
  • Add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling if desired.
  • Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
