🥧 Key Lime Pie (Classic, Creamy & Bright)

Key lime pie is a simple, tangy dessert made famous in Florida Keys. It’s creamy, citrusy, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tart.


🛒 Ingredients

Crust

  • 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ⅓ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup sugar

Filling

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup fresh key lime juice (or regular lime juice)
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • 3 egg yolks

Topping (optional)

  • Whipped cream
  • Lime slices or zest

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make crust: Mix crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press firmly into a 9-inch pie dish.
  3. Bake crust for 8–10 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  4. Make filling: Whisk egg yolks until slightly thickened. Add condensed milk, lime juice, and zest. Mix until smooth.
  5. Pour into crust and bake 12–15 minutes (just until set).
  6. Cool completely, then refrigerate at least 3 hours.
  7. Top with whipped cream before serving.

  • Fresh lime juice makes a big difference.
  • Don’t overbake — the center should jiggle slightly.
