peanut butter balls,

Posted on February 7, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Peanut Butter Balls—no-bake, sweet, and perfect as a treat or dessert:

Ingredients (makes about 24 balls)

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or milk chocolate)
  • 1 tablespoon shortening or coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate coating)

Instructions

  1. Make the peanut butter mixture:
    • In a large bowl, mix peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
  2. Form the balls:
    • Roll the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch / 2.5 cm in diameter).
    • Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Chill in the fridge for 30–60 minutes so they firm up.
  3. Prepare the chocolate coating:
    • Melt chocolate chips and shortening (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl in 20–30 second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
    • Alternatively, melt over a double boiler.
  4. Coat the balls:
    • Using a fork or toothpick, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, fully coating it.
    • Return to the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Set the chocolate:
    • Refrigerate the coated balls for 30 minutes or until the chocolate is firm.
  6. Serve:
    • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
    • Perfect for holidays, snacks, or gifting.

💡 Tips:

  • For a nut-free version, substitute sunflower seed butter for peanut butter.
  • Add a pinch of salt or crushed nuts on top before the chocolate sets for extra flavor and texture.
  • Use mini chocolate chips for a thinner coating that’s easier to dip.

If you want, I can also give a microwave-friendly 10-minute peanut butter balls recipe that skips chilling and still tastes amazing.
