🥩🥔 Steak and Potato Foil Packets

Steak and potato foil packets are an easy, all-in-one meal you can cook on the grill, in the oven, or over a campfire. Everything steams together inside the foil, keeping the steak juicy and the potatoes tender.

🥣 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1½ lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-size cubes
  • 1 lb baby potatoes, halved (or diced regular potatoes)
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers (optional)
  • ½ cup sliced onions
  • 3 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat:
    • Grill to medium-high (about 400°F / 200°C)
    • Or oven to 400°F (200°C)
  2. Prepare foil:
    • Cut 4 large pieces of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  3. Mix ingredients:
    • In a bowl, combine steak, potatoes, peppers, onions, oil/butter, garlic, and seasonings. Toss well.
  4. Assemble packets:
    • Divide mixture evenly among foil sheets.
    • Fold foil over and seal tightly to form packets.
  5. Cook:
    • Grill: 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway.
    • Oven: 20–25 minutes until potatoes are tender and steak is cooked to your liking.
  6. Serve:
    • Carefully open packets (watch for steam).
    • Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

🔥 Tips for Perfect Results

  • Cut potatoes small so they cook evenly.
  • For medium-rare steak, avoid overcooking — check around 12 minutes.
  • Add a tablespoon of beef broth inside each packet for extra moisture.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese on top during the last 5 minutes for a cheesy version.

🌟 Flavor Variations

  • Garlic Butter: Use compound garlic herb butter instead of oil.
  • Cajun Style: Add Cajun seasoning and a dash of hot sauce.
  • Mushroom & Thyme: Add sliced mushrooms and fresh thyme.
  • Surf & Turf: Add a few shrimp in the last 5 minutes of cooking.

This meal is simple, mess-free, and perfect for weeknights, grilling, or camping.

If you’d like, I can also give you a slow cooker or air fryer version.
